“Indeed it’s a variety that Yealands do well. Their Marlborough estate at Seaview (not far from Seddon) has rolling contours that stretch right out to the sea and within this they have been able to select one particular block that seems to provide fruit at just the right ripeness.
There’s the apricots and peach characters with nice balance and a good dry finish. It’s an ideal food wine. We had ours at the end of winter with an old-world favourite, roast chicken with pan roasted vegetables and spiced spinach. An ‘oldie but a goodie’ as they say. The wine went perfectly.
